Grand Slam of Curling Action is Back and Available World-wide Online
Apr 12, 2021
(Vancouver, BC and San Diego, CA) The Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling today announced that its season opener has been pushed back one day due to a delay with the world men’s curling championships. Accordingly, the YAREtv international stream service (http://gsoc.yaretv.com) will commence one day later on April 15, 2021.
The Humpty’s Champions Cup and Princess Auto Players’ Championship were cancelled last year and the start of this season was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Complying with government health and safety protocols within the hub city, the Humpty’s Champions Cup and Princess Auto Players’ Championship will feature 12 of the top men’s teams and 12 of the top women’s teams based on the world team rankings.
The Humpty’s Champions Cup will now begin Thursday at Calgary’s WinSport Arena and run through to Monday for the men’s and women’s finals. The Princess Auto Players’ Championship has not been affected and will start next Tuesday as planned.
California based Visaic will stream 70+ hours of live curling action throughout the competitions to international fans. Signal acquisition and video processing will occur in Visaic’s Canadian office based in the Vancouver area.
Visaic CEO Kanaan Jemili expressed excitement in delivering specialty Sportsnet content internationally, “It’s great to see the Grand Slam of Curling back in action. It’s been a long wait for fans and we’re looking forward to a busy month of world class curling. We’re especially excited to be launching GSOC Rocks, a new interactive game that we are piloting with Grand Slam of Curling international fans.”
The events will be closed to the general public. Broadcast coverage is produced by Sportsnet with online streaming available on the network’s service SN NOW (Canada) and YAREtv (international). The International service features a Twin Pass as well as individual event packages starting at USD $21.95. All packages feature live and VOD viewing options and can be cast to large screen TVs.
